Become a “Student Host.”

NEWS Student hosts

To all tenfootcity Readers, “I am writing on behalf of EF High School Exchange Year Programme to let you know about the exciting opportunity of becoming ‘A Host Family‘ for international students, who come to England to experience a year abroad, whilst studying towards their A/AS Levels. The students are all aged between 16 and 18. There is actually no such thing as a ‘typical family.‘ Currently, in the local area, we have grandmas who host, grandparents who host, single mothers and single fathers that host, families with grown up children and families with young children and couples of all ages. This incredibly rewarding experience is accessible to any household whatever your situation.

This experience is life-changing and wonderful for both the students and the host. The students get to learn all about British culture and it is an experience they will never forget. As a host, you get to learn about another culture, feel the pride of providing a once-in a lifetime experience for a young person and form a lasting relationship with someone from a different country. The students come from 25 different countries around the world – from Germany to Thailand, Italy to Japan, Norway to Spain. I am an International Exchange Coordinator for EF High School Exchange Year and it is my role to help families find the right students for them and to continuously support the students, families and schools throughout the year. I am still in contact with all the students I have hosted myself and it is brilliant to see them grow up into adults.

Here is a link to the EF website if you would like to look for more information. or you can contact me direct at Thank you.”
