Funky Bank Holiday night at The Beech Tree. 23rd August

The Retro Ghetto Orchestra (yes we know it’s a mouthful) is a new project from two former House DJ’s who wanted to try something different after some of the fun they used to have when

DJ‘ing began to fade away. “We still love our house music, but in recent times we had so much fun playing a mix of funk, soul and Ska at various back rooms and private events that we thought we would bring it all together and have a dabble with it on a bigger stage.”

The duo who make up the act have previously both run and promoted a number of successful club nights in the city and have been seen at most popular music venues across Hull, as well as appearing at clubs across the country. They will now serve up a blend of Northern Soul, Soul, Funk, Reggae and Ska with a few remixes and bootlegs thrown in for good measure, which is sure to set the stage for the ultimate attitude-free party that even your Nan can’t enjoy. They’ll be performing soon at Tribfest (again) followed by their own big bank holiday weekend party at the Beech Tree in Kirkella.

“We encourage everyone to come down, pack the place out and ensure you bring your dancing shoes for a cracking night of funky, “Dad” dancing!“
